Taking inspiration from a familiar image of 3D printing enthusiasts, I turned it into a charming and unique desk lamp.
Anyone using FDM 3D printing is probably familiar with the printer nozzle. Especially for those using Bambu Lab 3D printers, will regcognize this iconic print head - a standard 0.4 mm nozzle. In FDM 3D printing, the filament is heated and extruded through this nozzle, forming thin strands of plastic that are deposited layer by layer to gradually build up a 3D object.

Based on this concept, I came up with a desk lamp design that composed of three main parts: the nozzle head, the extruded filament section, and the base. For the base, I'm gonna share with you 2 version: a simpler version that uses readily available LED light modules, and a second version that features an Edison-style LED strip powered by rechargeable battery, with touch control for adjusting brightness.
Here’s a short video showing the assembly process. Hope you all enjoy and stay creative!
