A fully-enclosed desktop laser, safe for the home
The NOVA 20W is a diode laser housed in a fully-enclosed cabinet rated Class 1 — you can set it right on your desk, next to a 3D printer, with no dedicated room or safety goggles. It ships with a 5MP alignment camera, smart air assist, a touchscreen, and (on some bundles) a rotary for engraving cups and bottles. It's an out-of-the-box laser aimed at newcomers and small studios.
What the NOVA 20W does well
Safest in its class — Class 1
A fully-enclosed chamber plus 5-layer safety: lid-open auto-stop, tilt sensor, flame detection, child lock. Run it indoors with no goggles.
Very quiet
About 50 dB — even at full speed with air assist it stays as quiet as a calm office, unlike open-frame lasers.
Fast
Stepper motors hit up to 36,000 mm/min (600 mm/s) — plenty of headroom on fast travels and contours, cutting job times down.
Complete, plug-and-play
A 5MP camera for alignment, smart air assist, a cutting panel and a 2.4" touchscreen to engrave without a PC. Setup in just 10–20 minutes.
Tool-free module swaps
Quick-swap between 2W IR / 10W / 20W with no cables; the IR module marks metal, and a 90° rotary handles cups and round bottles.
Precise & LightBurn-ready

Where it's not yet optimal
No device is perfect — here are the trade-offs worth knowing before you buy, drawn from hands-on use and international reviews.
TOOCAA Studio software is young
Many of the nice features only run inside Studio, yet Studio lacks advanced calibration/config; the 'world's first AI laser' claim is overstated (a generic text-to-image plugin with limited credits). For real control, use LightBurn.
Camera & rotary aren't polished
The camera preview isn't truly live — it's a refreshable screenshot, a bit overexposed, and the overlay sits a few mm off so you re-align by hand. The rotary's plastic clamps struggle to grip, and software limits length to about 150mm of the 297mm.
Needs exhaust · A4 area · no metal cutting
For frequent use you must vent the exhaust outdoors or add a filter. The A4 (297×210mm) work area is smaller than some rivals at this price; the 20W diode only marks metal — it can't cut metal.
